Has anyone ever participated in a book discussion group?

     Last year my husband got a new job three hours from where we were previously living.  And although I am very proud of him and LOVE living in this area, I am having a hard time finding new activities!  On a recent trip to the city library I discovered a book discussion club that takes place twice a month!  I almost did a happy dance in the middle of the library.  Nerdy I know, but I will gladly accept the title.  However, once I sat down and thought about attending the club I realized that I know nothing about it other than what book they will be reading this month (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Vern).  So I put this question out to the universe.  Have you ever attended a book discussion club?  And if so, did you like it?
