Recently, I have been having a Doctor Who marathon with the help of Netflix. My little brother got me addicted and like some kind of British crack addict, I found as much Doctor Who as I could on Netflix to watch. I googled it to find out more information about the series, it's actors and it's writers. I became a Whovian.
Now most of the time I am sitting in my bed, eyes glued to the television too scared to move from that one spot, but the other day I came upon the most amazing episode ever! The Doctor and his companion, Donna, travel back in time and get to meet Agatha Christie. At first I thought, "Shucks! Where are the scary British children? Or the statues that have me staring at garden gnomes like they are going to rip me limb from limb?" Well, as it turns out, Agatha Christie is more badass than all those other aliens and creatures put together!
Now Doctor Who has met some amazing people on his adventures, including playwright William Shakespeare, but for some reason this episode made me want to read as much Agatha Christie as I could get my greedy little pregnant hands on. So I did what any broke book lover without a library card would do, I went to as many Goodwill stores as I could! I was very disappointed to only be able to find 3 of her novels on my most recent excursion. But fear not! I will be going back to the thrift stores once a week to see if I can find anymore.
I have already begun reading The Mysterious Affair at Styles. I have been having a lot of trouble sitting still with this giant belly. Even during my Who marathons I have to move about every 15 minutes, so it might take me longer to finish these novels then it would normally. But in any case, wish me luck as I embark on an adventure with one of the best selling authors of all time!
