Have You Fallen for the "Fallen" Series Yet?

I recently finished the third novel in the "Fallen" series by Lauren Kate, and honestly I have no idea what to say about this book.

So instead let me catch you up on what happened so that you can decide for yourself if you would like to pick it up and read it for yourself.  Well, where to begin?

Let's start with our two main characters, Luce and Daniel.  Luce has special powers,  and no one knows what they truly are, why she has them or how to deal with them.  I mean she wasn't bit by a radioactive spider or genetically mutated or anything.  Daniel is some kind of supernatural being.  I won't give away what because it would ruin the suspense!  Most of the first book is predicated on Luce trying to discover Daniel's true identity.  And that is about it.  Maybe it is just me but these characters are pretty one dimensional.  They fall in love and can think of nothing but being with the other.  And of course,  the universe wants to keep them apart.  I don't mean the universe wants to keep them apart in a teen angst way.  The universe is LITERALLY at war to keep them apart.  All three books in the series so far are their battles to stay together.  That is everything you need to know that won't give away any of the story secrets.

I really wish that these characters where a little more developed.  I wish I knew more about them other than that they are in love. I wish I knew more about the secondary characters.  I want to relate to them more, but maybe it is because of the supernatural elements of the books.  Maybe I am not supposed to relate to these characters no matter how hard I try.

Granted no matter how you look at these books, they are a good summer read.  As much as I may say is wrong with it, you lose yourself in it.  The best way to read any of the books in this series is on the beach or sitting on your back porch with a glass of wine.  As far as summer reads go these are good ones.
